What is an ATS scanner?

How does the ATS score work?

We parse your CV and the job description with Claude Sonnet, extract the keywords the JD actually cares about (skills, tools, seniority markers, domain terms), and compare them to what's in your CV. The score is a 0–100 match — 80+ is a strong match, 55–80 is decent, below 55 needs work. You also get the exact list of matched and missing keywords so you know what to add.
Will using this get me past every ATS?

No scanner can guarantee that — companies use dozens of different ATS products (Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, iCIMS, Taleo…) and each parses résumés slightly differently. What our scanner tells you is whether your CV has the language the specific job is looking for. That's the single biggest lever on ATS pass-through — nail that, and you're through the filter on the majority of platforms.
Can I edit my résumé after seeing the score?

Does the scanner see or store my CV?

For the one-off public scan, we store the CV text and job description tied to your payment record so you can revisit the result. We delete both after 30 days if you don't sign up. On the signed-in scanner, your CV lives in your account and only you can see it.
What file formats does the scanner accept?

PDF, DOCX, and plain text up to about 5 MB. If your PDF is a scan or image (no selectable text), the scanner can't read it — you'll need a text-based export from your CV tool first. Most modern CVs from Word, Pages, Google Docs, Canva, and BaissonCV itself are text-based already.
